Our fixed fee package for petitioners is suitable for what is best described as a simple divorce/dissolution. This means that the parties agree on the terms of the divorce/dissolution and can be considered as uncontested. Essentially there will be no complicating factors.
However, for many couples disputes over children, finances and property can complicate matters. These issues may demand more time and effort to resolve. In situations such as these where extra work will be required, we will advise you on your options to enable you to take an informed view as to how you may proceed.
Further problems can be experienced when the proceeding are defended or should there be a cross petition (where your partner petitions also.) In situations such as these we would discuss your options with regard to the way forward for you.
Finally, should there be problems serving your spouse with the necessary papers or, should they live abroad, these complicating factors would attract additional fees.

Why pay a fixed fee?
Paying a fixed fee provides you with certainty about the costs involved. If choosing not to pay a fixed fee, the alternative is to pay an hourly rate for the time spent on your case. The question is simply whether you would prefer to pay for the work that is needed or are you happy to pay by the hour for the time taken to accomplish the task?’
